Morada
Casamento não é
uma casa, sequer uma tenda
é anterior a isso, e mais frio:
a borda da floresta, a borda
do deserto
as escadas sem pintura
na parte de trás onde nos agachamos
do lado de fora, comendo pipoca
a borda da geleira que recua
onde doloridos e surpresos
por termos sobrevivido
até aqui
aprendemos a fazer fogo
(Margaret Atwood, tradução minha)
Poema original
Habitation
Marriage is not
a house or even a tent
it is before that, and colder:
the edge of the forest, the edge
of the desert
the unpainted stairs
at the back where we squat
outside, eating popcorn
the edge of the receding glacier
where painfully and with wonder
at having survived even
this far
we are learning to make fire
(Margaret Atwood, Selected Poems 1965–1975)
